We have received several requests from various members to have their own class websites. In fact, I am personally responsible for building the class websites of the Class of 2000 (Elysee 94) and the Class of 2001 (Nexus 95). But, building a class website takes much time, which most of us do not have, and then limits the size of the community as well. So, StanMed.net introduces a new feature now - Groups. You can create as many groups for different classes, departments, special interest groups and so on. You can be a member of as many groups as you want. Read on!

Groups are a way of uniting people with similar interests, such as classmates, departments, hobbies, career interests and so on. Currently, we only have one category - Classes. We will create more categories, as more members start using them. The Classes category have only one group now - Elysee 94 (Class of 2000). Take a look at this by going to http://www.stanmed.net and click on "People > Groups" in the top menu. You can also visit the Groups area of StanMed.net by visiting http://www.stanmed.net/groups

If you are the site administrator, or if you are enthusiastic about creating your own group for your class (Class of 1981, Class of 2001, etc), please  email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with your StanMed.net user id, your full name, phone number (with country and area code) and email address. I will call and verify that it's a real person. We have had several spammers trying to register on StanMed.net, and I want to do this for safety reasons. Then, you can go to the groups homepage (as in the previous paragraph) and create a group for your class. I will approve your group, and you can start inviting your classmates to join your group.

By the way, there is a group already for Elysee 94 (Class of 2000). If you belong to this class, please join this group immediately. The discussion forums on our website also has private forums that each group can use, so that people who are not members of your group cannot visit your forum. This gives a private space for interactions within your group. You can also post group bulletins to announce events, etc. Take a test drive by visiting the Elysee 94 group to see what this can do for you.

Create or join your own group, and let your online Stanlean community grow!
