A few months ago, we implemented an extended user information module. This way, you can enter information about yourself such as your relationship to Stanley (current student, alumnus, MBBS student, Nursing student, Post graduate, staff, faculty, etc), the years you spent at Stanley, and so on. This helps your friends to find you, and helps you to find your friends in turn, long after you have graduated or otherwise left Stanley. Read on to find out how.
This new feature will help your friends to find you and vice versa. You might also have noticed that our site is the #1 result on Google if you search for Stanley Medical College. So, our website would be the first place that any Stanlean will go to find their friends. Our website also has abilities to search members. Go to "People > Find People" on the top menu. This allows you to search for your friends, by just their name or with several other search criteria (using the advanced search). This will show a listing of all members who match your search criteria with further information about them. Once you are registered and logged in, you can see their complete profile. Please note that we not provide phone numbers and addresses on the website, for privacy reasons. You can however contact the website members through email to get their further contact information. Unregistered visitors will not be able to see the detailed profile. Many of you, especially those who registered before the extended user information system was implemented, will have blank profiles without much information. I highly recommend that you enter this information, so that friends can be reunited. We often receive emails from Stanleans looking for their long lost friends, but it is not possible to find their friends due to lack of information. This system will provide an automated way to find your friends without emailing anyone or asking around. Please log in, and then click the link on the right hand side that says "My Profile" (just below the log out button). This will take you to your profile page. Then go to "Edit > Update my profile" near the top of the page to edit or complete your profile. This will help us to find and reunite with our friends, professors and so on. By the way, if you are Stanlean, but not a member of StanMed.net, please register as soon as possible. Someone might be looking for you. If you think any of your Stanlean friends may not be registered on this site, please invite them, by logging in and using the "Invite a friend" feature on the right hand side. If you are an administrator of any of the class websites, please pass this on to your members. |
